[TO THE TUNE OF RIHANNA’S we found love in a hopeless place]
I HUNG SOME ART IN A PUBLIC SPACE!
Some multi-media works and prints that’re part of my WHO’S THAT GURB? series are up at THE CENTER in LB. They’re hanging out next to Denis Rivas’ beautiful and elegant collages.
My stuff sells for cheap so go and buy some if you’re a sicko.
At the party on opening night, I gave away my Gurbik’s Cube. I bought the used toy in LA’s Chinatown and affixed various sliced up prints of myself to its squares. There’s me as the Princess Bride. Me as Pierre et Gilles’ iconic sailor. Me as Veronica Lake. Me as Mary Poppins and I think something else but I can’t remember. Pocahontas I think. I raffled the Gurbik’s Cube by asking contestants to suggest more morphs since WHO’S THAT GURB? is a series wherein I colonize all of existence through my face. Like this:
OH, LOOK! IT’S EDGURB ALLAN POE.
Do you remember that episode of THE GOLDEN GIRLS where Dorothy goes to that literary-themed restaurant with her new snobby friend and somebody orders the Edgar Allan Potatoes? That was good.
Anyways, the winner of the Cube was a beautiful woman, Persephone, and her win gladdens me: the Cube will vacation in Hades for four months a year.
Persephone’s random, yet winning suggestion, was Tammy Fay Bakker.
